We recently stayed at Guesthouse Jacob Lenz in a room that was surprisingly roomy and comfortable. the shared bathroom and WC were conveniently located just 1.5 meters from our door and were kept clean. the personnel were helpful and the breakfast provided was good. the location of the guesthouse was ideal, close to the city center and within walking distance of both Arena Riga and the beautiful Old Town.
Nothing could have been better 😞

Comfortable very clean small hotel in in 19th century house in the middle of quarters built in famouse Novel Art style, very quite surroundings. High ceilings, neat room, comfortable beds, big bathroom. 20 min walk to Riga center. Plenty of small restaurants around. Breakfast simple but good.

The price/quality ratio was excellent, although I have to admit that we did not spend much time in the room(s), only for sleeping, having breakfast and taking a shower. Further, it's only 10 minutes walking to the historical center.
We had no complaints.

Good breakfast selection and friendly staff. Convenient location near cafes and shops.
The room was outdated and not very clean. The heating didn't work and the blankets provided were thin.

The personell was sincerely very friendly and listened to my needs, coming forward with suggestions (to order airport shuttle) and showing flexibility (to provide an earlier breakfast and give an extra blanket). The house and rooms are freshly renovated with nice interior.
I had arrived just a few days after the city's central heating was turned off, thus had a cold room. But hotel gave me a second blanket at the first mention.

Nice helpful staff. Good buffet brekfast. Bathrooms were modern. The hotel is located in an old style building with nice interior decorations and high ceilings. Jakob Lenz is located close to the beautiful art-nouveau district, and 20 minutes walk to the old Riga, through a nice park.
The rooms were pretty basic, and the furniture was quite aged.

I liked the quiet location close to the centre of Riga, pleasant staff, good breakfast and informal atmosphere. I would be happy to stay at the hotel again and will recommend it to my friends.

The free WiFi in the guestrooms was a lifesaver for someone like me who loves staying connected. Being able to use the communal kitchen was amazing, as it gave me the opportunity to cook my own meals and save some money. I really liked how some rooms had a seating area, it made the space feel more homely and comfortable. The deep soaking bathtubs in the bathrooms were pure bliss after a long day of exploring the city. Having access to shared bathrooms was not a problem at all, they were always clean and well-maintained. The private entrance in the apartment I stayed in was a nice touch, it made me feel like I had my own little hideaway.
Personally, I would have preferred private bathrooms in the "basic" rooms, but I understand others may not mind shared facilities.

This hotel was just all round excellent. 20 minutes walk from city centre so if you have heavy baggage catch a bus. Buy a Riga "Pilsetas Plan" street map (2.54 Lat) which has a street index and lists all the trams and buses. The cooked breakfast was very good and each floor had a kitchen in which you could prepare lunch/dinner. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The room was big and comfortable. The breakfast room was nice and the breakfast was good and fresh. Everywhere was clean. The staff was friendly. It was absolutly worth the money. I will recommend the hotel to everybody I know.
The location was not the best. It was kind of far to everything. The first day we noticed the shower was not ok. We told the reception, but the problem was not fixed during our stay

The location of the hotel was perfect for our new year's celebration in Riga. It was walking distance from the old town and other key attractions. the breakfast was amazing, offering a variety of options to choose from and refill as much as you want. the staff was friendly and accommodating, always willing to help.
The room was quite small and lacked some basic amenities. We had to share the bathroom and it wasn't as clean as we would have liked.

The best thing here is the breakfast which is incredibly tasty and lots of stuff to choose! The room is quite big but very cold inside (we were in May with +2 at night - no heating). I recommend to go here in the summer only.
Nothing works in the kitchen (microwave was out of order), no folks and spoons. However, quite big fridge. Only one toilet on the floor, always busy. The hotel is really far away from the old town and all sights (if to go on foot).

The Airport Shuttle will call there. The staff are really helpful. The rooms are quiet and clean though compact. Breakfast is good and the day they have a coffee maker with nice coffee on sale throughout y it is included in the breakfast. The price was outstanding! Very good. They have non-smoking rooms but I forgot to ask for one.
